K-12 Teachers, Apply for The John Morton Excellence in the Teaching of Economics Awards

CEE Seeks Applications for the
2016 John Morton Excellence in the Teaching of Economics Award

The Council for Economic Education (CEE) recognizes excellence in economic and financial education by honoring three national educators at the elementary, middle and high school levels with The John Morton Excellence in the Teaching of Economics Awards.

This award promotes personal finance and economic education by recognizing and honoring inspirational teachers whose innovative teaching shows measurable results in improving students' understanding of personal finance and economic concepts and issues.

The awards program is open to all K-12 teachers. Any eligible teacher may nominate themselves or be nominated by other teachers, department chairs, principals, superintendents or CEE state affiliates.

  • A cash award of $1000
  • All-expense paid scholarship to attend the 55th Annual Financial Literacy and Economic Education Conference in Phoenix, Arizona, October 5-8,2016
  • Recognition at CEE's Annual Conference Teacher Awards luncheon
  • Recognition on CEE website, digital assets, communications and in CEE's November e-Newsletter to teachers
  • The opportunity to share best practices with their teaching colleagues by co-facilitating a session at CEE's Annual Conference in Phoenix

Important Dates and Deadlines

The entries must be submitted electronically by Thursday, June 30, 2016.
Awardees will be notified by August 15, 2016. Following awardee notification, their schools will be notified, names and pictures will appear on CEE website and press releases will be sent out to the media.
