Starting early: More middle schools to teach financial education

·       Only about 28 states have financial education standards in lower grades, including middle school.

·       Research shows that kids who learn to manage money when they're young will be able to better handle their finances as adults.

·       In New Jersey, a new law that goes into effect in September will require all school districts to teach financial literacy starting in sixth, seventh and eighth grades.
